One of my homesteading goals is to start utilizing more homemade cleaners made with natural ingredients, which I know will reduce dangerous chemicals and save money as well!
There are many common household cleaners that are incredibly simple to make on your own, including this countertop cleaner and window cleaner. The window cleaner can also be used on mirrors, glass table tops, and stainless steel appliances.
Another great thing about making your own, is that you can choose what scents you would like for them, or keep them unscented if you prefer. Have fun with it! Here are the simple recipes I use for these cleaners:
Countertop Cleaner
2 C. water
1 tsp unscented dish soap
10 drops essential oil, such as lemon, lavender, grapefruit, peppermint, etc
Window Cleaner
1 C. water
1 C. white vinegar
10 drops essential oil, peppermint or eucalyptus are my favorites
This is the first part in a series I'll be doing on natural homemade cleaning products. Stay tuned for more!
